UTILITY CRUSHER ATTACHMENTS FOR UTILITY SKIDSTEERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 2008

How would a contractor justify the crusher? Answer: This crusher produces a commodity that can be used on the property or is saleable. Payback also comes from savings on trucking and landfill costs, as you use the material on-site or sell it.
Note: U.S. landfills generally consist of 15% non-organic crushable waste.

What is the hydraulic pressure required? Answer: 2,000 - 3,500 psi. All skid steers so far have been capable of using the machine.

What is the volume of oil required to operate the machine? Answer: 15 - 18 gallons per minute.

How is the crusher attached to the skid steers? Answer: The crusher has a universal attachment plate for all USA made skid steers. Hydraulics are quick-coupled to skid steer.

What size skid steer will the bucket crusher work on? Answer:
The Model 3612 crusher requires larger (heavier) skid steers. High flow capability may be desirable depending on rock type.

What size hoses and piping are required for hydraulics? Answer: The hydraulic motor on the crusher requires two #10 pipe fittings and the recommended hose size is 3/4 inch to control the heat generated. Hoses should be approximately 7” long. There should be no 90º elbows in the hydraulic feed.

What will a crusher crush? Answer: It will crush up to the strength of a Grade 8 bolt. The crusher has crushed the softest rock to the very hardest Canadian shield rock, which is up to 60,000 psi compressive strength.

What is the discharge size? Answer: Machine discharge size is adjustable from 2” to 1”.

What is the feed size? Answer: Set at 2” discharge, the feed size is slightly larger than 6 inches. On the 1” discharge setting, the feed size is slightly under 6 inches. Sidewalk, driveways, patios, brick, and block are typical feed.

What is the delivery time? Answer: From the actual order to completion is normally 6 to 8 weeks FOB or EXW

What is the capacity of the crusher? Answer: Capacity depends largely on experience of operator and the hardness and specific gravity of the feed material. We rate the 2412 crusher at between 10 and 15 tons per hour.

Where can we see the machine perform? Answer: We currently have machines near many major airports across the county. Call our office to schedule a demonstration.

What happens if material goes through a second time? Answer: The product becomes more uniform and smaller on second pass.

What is the cost of the machine? Answer: Send us an E-mail OR telephone (906) 885-5333 for a quote.

How is the machine transported? Answer: New Dimension Crushers (NDC) has transported the machine two at a time in a pick-up truck, by ship and air cargo (it is the only crusher that can fly). It does not require a permitted load because of its light weight and small size.

Do you have factory re-conditioned units at lower cost? Answer: Because of the quality of the machine, we have not had to re-build any at this time. On occasion, a demonstration machine may become available at reduced price.

Has anyone used the crusher in a fixed location? Answer: The crusher can be used in a fixed location with a hydraulic power pack. This also allows for demolition inside occupied buildings.

Are dealerships available? Answer: At many locations.

If there were no dealer in my area, how would I acquire a machine? Answer: New Dimension Crushers will sell crushers factory-direct until dealer networking is completed.

Will replacement parts create a problem? Answer: Potential wear parts include motor, bearings and seals, which are off-the-shelf items. None have been replaced at this time.

Is there a warranty? Answer: With individual ownership, the warranty is 6 months. With rental units, the warranty is subject to negotiations. Extended warrantees are available.

How do you clear tramp metal from the crusher? Answer: You invert the crusher and reverse the drive, ejecting the tramp material. THIS IS THE ONLY CRUSHER WE KNOW OF WITH THIS CAPABILITY.

What are the wear parts made of? Answer: The wear parts are T-1 equivalent steels.

How does the machine handle rebar/wire mesh? Answer: Rebar will be crushed clean and comes out crescent shaped. Wire mesh and rebar should be trimmed to edge of concrete before crushing, to avoid hopper plug-ups.

What are the required lubricants? Answer: Mineral - Chevron Ulti-Plex Grease EP2 (or equivalent) Synthetic - Chevron Ulti-Ptex Grease EP (or equivalent).

How many sizes of machines does NDC make? Answer: Currently we are making the Model 2412 and Model 3612 bucket or fixed crushers in 2” and 1” discharge sizes. NOTE: Look for the introduction of exciting new models in the spring of 2009, with a complete line of mining, construction and demolition crushers available by 2010.
How is dust managed? Answer.
To minimize dust generation while crushing, it is best to hold crusher within six (6) inches of the product pile during operation.
